Elson can't wait to get his hands on her again. The little kink it puts in their sex does wonders for their enthusiasm. Over a Barrel by Tamsin Flowers Bonnie can't go to work with both arms in casts. She thinks her colleague, Brian, will use the opportunity to take her job away from her. When he shows up at her house, he gives her other things to think about. I liked the little puffs of humor that sprung up here and there.
I'm not sure how easy or sexy it is to have sex when both arms are in thick plaster casts, but the imagery was amusing. Tuscarora by Anja Vikarma Jane leaves her abusive husband after inheriting some land from a relative. The freedom and peace aren't the only appealing things about her new surroundings. It was a little fast, but it was so romantic and sweet.
Their love scene was really sexy. Big Bully by A. Hartnett A bodyguard falls for his rebellious charge, but first she needs a good spanking for her bad behavior. Despite my dislike for her, it was still a hot read. It started out sweet and got hotter. Closing the Deal by Kelly Maher After a one night stand with her colleague Paul, Julia ran out on him the next morning. When he finally catches up with her at a conference, he has no intention of letting her get away again so easily. Whatever It Takes by Kristina Wright Amidst the chaos of shuttling kids to and from activities and everyday life in general, David and his wife have no problem igniting their spark.
Feb 07, Jillyn rated it really liked it Shelves: First, I would like to talk about the cover art for this particular anthology. I love it, and I feel that it perfectly demonstrates what the book has in store. There's a theme of sex but a tender intimacy that shows how magical it can be when two people get together. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover of course, but it's hard not to with this one. This collection features stories from all different stages of relationships old and new, and people who are young and old.
All have an emotional feel to them, and all of course have their share of steamy, passionate lust. As always with anthologies like this one, I'd like to highlight the three I liked the best, in no order in particular. The first is the story that you got a sneak peek of earlier in my post, entitled "Stay with Me" by Crystal Jordan. Jamie has tried her hardest not to get attached to her seasonal hire on the ranch, knowing that he'll be gone in no time. But when he asks to be invited in earlier one morning, it's hard for her to resist him for much longer.
The sex in this story is intimate and passionate, with characters that honestly I'd like to read more about. That's a rare trait in a short story, and it was well done in this one. It's Julie's job to zip around the world, scouting potential filming sites for movies. Her newest voyage to Hungary leads her to a beautiful castle, and a tall, handsome man that comes along with it. I'm a sucker for castles and stories set in regions such as Hungary, so the beautiful setting was enough to draw me in, and the love scenes held me there. And my last pick is titled "Rules" by Emerald. Joyce's husband Pete comes across an old photograph of her Goth-y, rebellious self back in her youth and loves it.
She decides to dip into her old wardrobe with the plans to surprise him with a very special, dark treat. Not going to lie, I identify as one who dresses "goth" so this one was extra sexy to me. Dyed hair, fishnets, and vinyl? Sign me up for a double helping of that. This anthology is a great mix of stories that are good for anyone who likes their erotica to be more emotional and more romantic than most.
If you like steamy sex scenes and believe in love, than give this book a read. This review can also be found on my blog, Bitches n Prose. Jun 11, Amanda rated it liked it Shelves: Most of these couples are in long-term, committed relationships. Jan 26, Amber Daulton rated it liked it. This is an anthology of sixteen short stories by sixteen different authors. The following reviews are my opinions on each story. She and Ian play a dance game on the Wii and make a competition out of it. Whoever loses must give the other an orgasm. So the story is all about dancing and the loser fulfilling the bet.
She meets Randall, a man who knows nothing about cars, so she invites him to return to the garage afterhours so she can give him a step by step rundown on the maintenance she performed on his car. One thing leads to another and sparks fly. I really enjoyed this story, especially the twist at the end. The heat and chemistry between them is spot on. They understand one another, respect each other, and the sexual car metaphors were hilarious. This story is one of my favorites in the antho. After she reveals her wild teenage years and he admits to thinking goth girls are hot, she buys herself a purple wig and dons a corset to spice up their love life.
Joyce is such a strong character, Pete loves her no matter what, and I totally respected them. Sometimes you gotta fight for your rights, for respect, and break out of the mold conservative society demands. Honestly, George seemed like an ass. Their attraction to one another seemed superficial and temporary.
Cord is a horse trainer, hired on for the summer. They jumped in bed together before the reader even knows their back story and it just seemed rushed and sloppy. This short story had the potential to be good but it fell flat. They meet at bar, have a fun night of sex and move in together a year later. The reader knows nothing about them. No back stories, no romance, no love. But the erotic night he spent with his mysterious lover makes him want to throw caution aside-if only for one more night with his masked goddess.
Warning, this title contains the following: Inspired by the tale of Rapunzel, Lila DiPasqua offers a new steamy, emotionally charged historical romance in the acclaimed Fiery Tales Series. Maintaining her ruse as a commoner, and trusting no one has kept Angelica safe. But a chance encounter with a handsome stranger lands her right where danger lies.
Yet, the smoldering attraction between them is difficult to deny. And impossible to ignore. As commander of a number of privateer ships, Simon Boulenger dresses and speaks like an aristocrat, and has obtained wealth. But he is still not a noble. His lifelong dream to elevate himself from his station of birth and attain a respectable place in society is dead.
But how is he to stay focused on his dangerous mission when the mysterious beauty has him utterly intrigued? A woman he can never have. Their hearts are at risk. Simon is the sort of tormented hero I love. His life is a mess and he feels tainted by his association with the corrupt Superintendent of Finances, Fouquet. Simon is an honourable man, willing to sacrifice his dream in order to save his men and bring Fouquet to account for his actions.
His compassion shows in his condemnation of slavery and the way he has provided a home and work for so many desperate people. He gave them employ in the fields. He gave us an opportunity to survive rather than to die in France. He is also just and fair when judging complaints brought before him.
LUST... HOT AND SWEET AS LATTE
Anglica is gentle and compassionate but also strong and courageous. She still bears deep emotional scars and a belief that no man could ever want someone like her. She has never been able to share her dark, shameful secret with anyone, even her close friend, Gabrielle. I love how Angelica demonstrates not only her compassion but also her bravery when she confronts the schoolmaster she sees brutally beating a young boy. Instinctively, she swung around and struck him with an open palm across his face.
I am not one of these helpless children you enjoy mistreating. The sexual tension between these two is definitely explosive. It was rewarding to watch Simon gradually demolish the walls Angelica has built around herself with his compassion, acceptance and understanding, inspiring her to take risks and find happiness and how Angelica makes Simon see the noble man he truly is. You wish to be exalted, but in the eyes of so many, you are. Fouquet is a formidable enemy but his downfall rests with his sheer arrogance in underestimating the young King Louis.
Ms DiPasqua brings to life all decadence and political intrigue of the Royal court and the inclusion of real-life figures like Fouquet and Louis XIV adds an extra level of authenticity to the story. Now published together for the first time: It also includes a sneak peak from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes coming in January The last thing she wants is another reckless rogue. Lord Alex Edgerton has a problem. The task of chaperone becomes even more of a bother when his sister drags along her dearest friend, Lady Imogen to social functions. The last thing he wants in his life is a young, innocent English miss.
Except, as Alex and Imogen are thrown together, passions flare and Alex comes to find he not only wants Imogen in his bed, but also in his heart. Yet now he must convince Imogen to risk all, on the heart of a rogue. Elinor Abbott was only 14 years old when she and her father left England for America. Six years later, with war at their doorstep, she is forced to return to her land of birth and a life amongst the aristocracy she abhors. A return to England also means facing the man who brutally attacked her as an adolescent. He was sent home early due to an injury and must face his new destiny as the heir to an earldom.
Can Elinor navigate the perils of coming out in aristocratic England and still retain her sense of identity? Can Easton help her overcome her aversion to men or will her past keep her from facing her future? But his convictions begin to falter when he arrives in Venice and meets his match in the alluring Lady Caro. What began as a hastily concocted lie to save her from the marquis may become a chance for them both to relinquish their fear — and embrace what they can no longer deny….
Captain Lucien DeVair, known as the Sea Devil, was the most feared pirate of his age but also the most desired by every wench in his path. Unfortunately after bedding a jealous sorceress, he and his ship and crew are cursed to forever sail without making landfall. After over three centuries, Lucien is more than ready to see an end to his punishment and to taste the delights of a willing woman.
Lucien quickly comes to believe that this new modern version of a witch may prove to be his way out of the curse. And on top, and from behind, and in the rigging…. This Modern Penny Dreadful has it all! Pirates, Sorority Girls, Zombies and the surprising erotic games to be found aboard a cursed ship trapped in the Bermuda Triangle when all hope is lost. Seriously fun and deliberately crafted to be an entertaining read like no other—A. The Devil DeVere, 5.
Having once lived his life only for larks, laughter, and ladies of easy virtue, Captain Simon Singleton has returned from the war with the colonies a shambles of a man. Once the crowning jewel of the most lavish brothel in London, the exotic Salime finds her reputation and livelihood destroyed by a bitter rival. With a closely guarded secret stripped away, Salime fears no man will ever desire her again. Seeking aid from the man who once saved her life, Salime accepts a proposition to repay her debt to him by becoming a companion to his war-scarred friend.
Circumstance brings these two damaged souls together; but fate ignites a love story worthy of the Arabian Nights. Does it live up to my expectations? Vane has the ability to infuse her books with such realism, and her characters have such depth and feeling. I love Salime and she must be one of the most unique heroines I have ever come across…a Turkish courtesan and a former slave at the Topkapi Palace.
She was a perplexing paradox—fiercely proud and demure, meek yet bold, submissive yet self-assured. With everything life has thrown at her, Salime has had to be strong to survive. She accepts her life because she knows that having all those things that other women have…love, a husband and a family are just an impossible dream. Ms Vane has worked her magic to create such a wonderfully sympathetic character.
I desperately wanted Salime to find a man who could see the beautiful woman she truly is and love her without reservation. What can I say about Simon! DeVere will always remain my favourite but Simon is close on his heels. But now, he was himself a shattered shambles of a man. Feeling neither alive nor dead, he was doomed to this horrific half-existence, destined to be a mere observer. Life as he remembered it—the one he had desperately hoped to resume—was over. Even his best friends, DeVere and Ned, are shocked to see the thin, unkempt, short-tempered, bearded man before them.
I love DeVere and Ned…everyone needs friends like that. Their compassion and sheer doggedness had finally worn him down. Simon raised his hands in surrender. Salime and Simon definitely heat up the pages! I love the slow burning attraction between them and the scene where Salime dances for Simon just oozes sensuality…no wonder he is totally mesmerised. Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. They're fun, flirty, flawed, deeply emotional, always passionate, and easy to relate to.
And of course, you'll see cameos from the Seaside Summers characters! When Emery Andrews's best friend, Desiree, moves away, falls in love, and opens an inn all in one summer, she feels her absence like a missing limb. Until she visits over the holidays and meets sinfully hot Dean Masters, who's as easy on the eyes as he is to talk to. After returning home, what starts as a flurry of late-night flirtations quickly turns into a deep connection and unexpected friendship. Now, months later, Desiree offers Emery a job teaching yoga at the inn. After months of sharing their lives, and their secrets, over video chats and phone calls, Dean's ready to move things to the next level.
The fact that Emery seems oblivious to the sparks between them and has recently put her foot down about dating friends just means he'll have to bide his time. When Emery finds a naked man in her kitchen the first morning she's there, Dean doesn't hesitate to move her into his guest room. Maybe now Emery will see what's right before her eyes--although that guy she's got a date with might be a problem.

Ok, so I have been on a Melissa Foster roll and although her writing was still just as great, I just couldn't help but feel SO annoyed by Emery for at least the first half of the book. Honest to god, up until they actually "gave it a chance" I couldn't take much more of her, I actually wanted to stop reading altogether. I had just wished Emery's character hadn't been so freaking annoying for most of their story, I just didn't like her to start with BUT at least by the latter half I finally warmed up to her still not the greatest character but oh well lol.
On to the Drake and Serena's story soon: Jan 15, Tpagirl rated it really liked it Shelves: It was a sweet and slow friends to lovers theme, with a few life lessons mixed in. She was it and he was willing to bide his time developing a strong friendship until the time was right. They had been best friends in Oak Falls, Va since the first grade.
She was fun, flirty, beautiful and a train wreck for relationships. True to form with Foster, Bayside Passions was well written and well developed. Foster took us through the typical emotions and pitfalls of going from friendship to a lasting forever love. For example, she included challenges from a dysfunctional and controlling family while simultaneously adding humor through the ladies of LOCAL, the Lower Cape Assisted Living - they were hysterical.
But the teasers were intriguing and exude a promise for success. Lastly, Foster graced us with the friends of Bayside that we fell in love with in book one scattered throughout the storyline. Jan 17, Jessica Alcazar rated it really liked it Shelves: One of the aspects of this book that sticks out in my mind was how easy it was to read.
Like the story wasn't even problematic at all. And what I mean by that is that our leads had no real obstacle to overcome. It was fun and sweet with little to no angst at all. Their friendship was well established as we begin the book so the entire journey is just them changing their path and they did it seamlessly. You know, Melissa Foster can real deliver on all fronts. I've r One of the aspects of this book that sticks out in my mind was how easy it was to read. I've read all kinds of tropes from her and every single time she delivers.
Yes, some I enjoyed more than others, but the quality of her writing is always there. Well done once again! Copy provided for blog tour review Returning to this world is always a fun time. I feel like you have to be in a really good mood to enjoy this book because the two protagonists are so full of life. If not, then you will probably feel much lighter after reading this book. While I do enjoy this, I also think that it can get a little over the top in some scenes. There were times when I wondered how it was possible for two people to be so happy, but I guess that might just be my mood.
All in all, this was an enjoyable read if a bit too upbeat for my liking. But I am looking forward to seeing where the rest of this series goes. Jan 10, Under the Covers Book Blog rated it liked it. Emery Andrews, Desiree's BFF, and yoga instructor, has decided to move to the Cape, to escape a predicament regarding her ex-boss.
Dean Masters has been crushing on Emery since they met at a wedding the previous summer. They have stayed in touch by text and FaceTime, and become good friends. But, do either of them wish it was more? I don't want to say too much, and give away any spoilers. But the storyline is fab. There are plenty of laughs, Violet is a hoot, I can't wait for her book but I did shed a few tears, too. Dean is such a sensitive soul, with a heart of gold, and he surprises Emery at every turn.
Put your feet up, with your favourite cuppa, and enjoy. Jan 18, Nadene Totally Addicted to Reading rated it really liked it. Featured in this installment are Emery Andrews and Dean Masters whom I was introduced to in the previous installment. It was at this point I recognised the possibility of them becoming a couple, and so I was eager for them to get their own story. Foster did not disappoint. The story highlighted the challenges one f Bayside Passions Melissa Foster is the second book in the Bayside Summer series. The story highlighted the challenges one faces being part of a dysfunctional family and having to contend with a controlling patriarch.
Besides the romance, which I thought was well developed; there was humour and many smoldering moments. The humour, which was spot on, had me smiling at every page turn. Bayside Passions was no different. Dean and Emery share a special bond of friendship, which slowly developed into a romance filled with heat and topped off with a hint of sweetness. They are the opposite of each other. Dean is methodical and a thinker. Emery on the other hand is adventurous and impulsive. In spite of their differences, they worked well together making them a perfect couple.
Their romance was not without its challenges. Challenges, which were self-imposed and required soma amount of convincing to prove that their love was worth risking their friendship. I can't believe this was my first Melissa Foster book. Where the heck have I been?

Sweet and sexy with an engaging cast of characters. Dean and Emery coming together was so fantastic. It was light, fun, and witty, drawing me in. I loved seeing their friendship grow into more. I loved their struggles and personal battles as they come together. Emery had such a great personality, she was a spitfire. I loved watching her blinders come I can't believe this was my first Melissa Foster book.

I loved watching her blinders come off when it came to Dean. I loved how open and caring he was, so strong and confident. Their playful connection made for some really entertaining moments, I loved their conversations and the easy flow of them being together. They had fantastic chemistry and I love how that built. I had so much anticipation for them to truly connect. There are great secondary stories happening with both Emery and Dean that I enjoyed as well. I liked how they were their for each other during those trials. There is a tremendous cast of inviting characters introduced making you want to become a part of their world.
This made me want to read other stories and series the author has written, it was so enticing. The writing was excellent. There was great character development for Dean and Emery and I felt like they really came alive. The story was so inviting, really pulling me in as I got to know the characters and where they live in.
I couldn't get enough, I was excited while reading and invested. This was just an entertaining read. Sweet, fun, romantic and sexy and filled with love and hope. Dean and Emery pull you into their story from the very first page and keep you begging for more. The banter between the two of them was so cute and entertaining. I loved the build and lead up to their romance. Emery and Dean had an amazing friendship, and their feelings only grew the more time they spent with one another. Dean was so unbelievably sweet and protective. Not only was he a total alpha, but he totally rocked the swoon factor. He knew from the moment he met Emery that he had to have her, but was afraid to frighten her away.
You see, Emery has burned by relationships with friends in the past and was determined to do whatever it took to keep Dean as her friend. She was awkward and frustrating at times, but I understood her and her actions. You could tell that he worshiped Emery and would give her the world if she let him.
Bayside Passions was a fabulous read from beginning to end. And let me tell you, Bayside Passions was all of that and then some. It was fun and entertaining.
